Universities

Saskatchewan has two world-class, publicly-funded, government-accredited universities that accept international students:  the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and the University of Regina in Regina.  Students from many countries around the world come to these universities to study.

The University of Regina is a dynamic institution with nine faculties and 25 academic departments, which have established reputations for excellence and innovative programs leading to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.

The University of Saskatchewan is a centre of excellence for education, research and service, and offers 58 degrees, diplomas and certificates in over 100 areas and disciplines.

Both the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina also offer English as a Second Language (ESL) through a number of supportive, student-centred programs.

The Institut Français at the University of Regina offers a Certificate in French as a Second Language.  It is a two-semester, full-time program designed for students who want to acquire a solid, intermediate level in both oral and written French.

Training Institutions

Skills training for international students (such as pre-employment programs for welding, carpentry and other trades) is provided by the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST).  SIAST offers more than 160 career programs at four different campuses (Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert and Moose Jaw).

Regional Colleges

Saskatchewan has a network of regional colleges and many of them offer classes at branch locations.  Regional college classes include health care, skills such as welding and grain marketing, and adult basic education.  Many regional colleges offer first-year university classes and courses linked to SIAST.

Two regional colleges, Cumberland Regional College and Parkland Regional College, provide programs for international students.  Visit their websites to learn more.
