Respiratory Therapists

Respiratory therapists assist physicians in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.  They are employed in hospitals, medical clinics, health units, extended care facilities, public health centres and respiratory home care companies.  [NOC 3214]

Basic Requirements:

  • Respiratory therapy education from a respiratory therapy school accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education in Canada.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board for Respiratory Care (CBRC) National Certification Examination.
