Where should I go to recruit an international worker?
There are several ways to learn which countries provide the best source of workers that will fill your employment needs. It is important to target your search and recruitment procedures so that you get the best possible candidates applying for your employment opportunities.
- Gather input from other employers in your area who have experience in the international recruitment process.
- Talk to immigrants who have moved to Saskatchewan and who are working in the field that you are recruiting for. Learn from them – they may know of others or of family members who are seeking to make a move.
- Contact officials who work in Government Immigration Programs (SINP, CIC, HRSDC).
- Contact immigrant service agencies (i.e. The Open Door Society in Saskatoon and Regina, Global Gathering Place, International Women of Saskatoon) to seek advice on your recruitment efforts and and to determine if there are eligible/interested workers currently in the province.
- Advertise on international websites that are designed to connect employers with job-seekers.
- Use a recruitment agency that has experience in the sector that you work in.
