Other Health Professions

Under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), Saskatchewan can nominate health professionals currently working in health occupations that are supported by the appropriate licensing body (if applicable), the appropriate regional health authority or other employer and meet one of the following criteria:

Eligibility

To be considered in the Other Health Professions Sub-Category, you must:

  1. Provide proof of a temporary work permit confirming that you have been working in a skilled health occupation in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six months.
  2. Have an offer of permanent employment that is issued by a Saskatchewan Regional Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or another health employer.

On your behalf, the SINP will obtain:

  1. A letter of support from the appropriate licensing body.
  2. A letter of support from your employer (see number 2 above) indicating that the position you are being offered was posted as per the relevant collective agreement and remains vacant (if applicable).

How to Apply

Applicants must submit the following SINP application package to the Saskatchewan Immigration Branch.  This package must include the original SINP forms and photocopies of the Government of Canada forms and supporting documents detailed below.  Please note only photocopies of the original Government of Canada forms and supporting documents will be accepted. If original federal forms or documents are included the entire application may be returned and you will have to re-apply.

Supporting Documents

All applicants to the Other Health Professions sub-category must submit the following along with their application to the SINP:

  1. The Temporary Work Permit. The temporary Work Permit must show the applicant has been practicing as a health professional other than a physician or nurse in Saskatchewan for a minimum of (6) six months.
  2. Offer of full-time Permanent Employment issued by a Saskatchewan Regional Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or another health employer.
  3. Birth certificates (for applicant and immediate family-members list both parents), marriage certificate, divorce, custody and maintenance documents (if applicable).
  4. Education credentials.
  5. A copy of your license that allows you to practice in Saskatchewan (if applicable).  This license must be current and unrestricted, if your license is about to expire, you must supply the SINP with a copy of your new license as soon as possible.
  6. Police report(s) if the applicant or any family member over the age of 18 has committed an offence or been convicted of a crime;  please provide a copy of a police report from the country or countries where the offence(s) occurred.  In addition to the police report, submit any proof of rehabilitation, if applicable.
  7. Valid Passport - it is recomended that the expiry date be no less than two years hence. (Note: Each family member must obtain an individual passport).

Where documents are in a language other than English, the applicant must submit a photocopy of the original document and a photocopy of the English translation.  Translators can be any person other than a family member of the applicant or spouse and must not work for a paid consultant or representative who is preparing the application.  The applicant must also supply an affidavit from the translator describing their translation ability.  Please be aware that some Canadian immigration visa offices may require that the translator is certified by a regulatory body as a translator.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all federal requirements are met with respect to translations.
