About the Deposit

Q1: When will I be required to submit the $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit as part of my application?

Do not submit the $75,000 CAD deposit with your initial application package.  You will be required to submit the $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit after your application package has been reviewed by the SINP and nominated for permanent residence to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).  You will be contacted by the SINP Entrepreneur Unit in writing with instructions on how to submit this deposit.

Q2: How do I submit my $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit?

After the SINP has reviewed the application package, conducted a review and assessment of the file and approved the file for nomination for permanent residence, you will be contacted by the SINP Entrepreneur Unit in writing with instructions on how to submit this deposit.

Q3: Under what circumstances can I get my $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit back?

You may apply for your good faith deposit to be returned:

  • Within two years of landing in Saskatchewan
  • When you have satisfied the terms of the Performance Agreement by establishing or acquiring a business in Saskatchewan, investing the minimum amount set in the Performance Agreement, and being involved in the day-to-day management of the business operations
  • When you can demonstrate at least six months of active investment in the relevant business

If any of the above criteria apply to you, then you must submit a Deposit Return Request as well as all required documentation to verify that the terms of the Performance Agreement have been met.  If the SINP determines that all conditions for deposit return have been met, it will instruct Scotiabank to return your deposit and any interest that has accumulated.  If the SINP determines that the conditions for return have not been met, you will be advised of the outstanding criteria that you must meet before the deposit will be returned.

If you would like to submit a Deposit Return Request, please contact the Entrepreneur and Farm Unit at 001-306-798-2209 or by email at saskentrepreneur@gov.sk.ca

Q4: Under what circumstances is my $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit forfeit?

You will forfeit the total $75,000 CAD deposit and any interest earned if:

  • You or your designated representative are found to have submitted an application that constitutes misrepresentation or fraud on any required SINP or Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) form or supporting document.
  • Your application for permanent residence is denied by CIC for reasons of fraud or misrepresentation and, as a result, you are unable to land in Canada and meet the commitments of your Performance Agreement.
  • You, through fault of your own, do not complete the process to become a Permanent Resident, land in Saskatchewan, and meet the conditions of the Performance Agreement.
