Family Reunification

For many newcomers, reuniting with family members is important.  If you have a permanent resident card or Canadian citizenship and meet other rules, you may be able to sponsor your family to come to live in Canada.

As a sponsor, you are financially responsible for your family after they arrive.  You have promised to help them get settled.  Citizenship and Immigration Canada has two categories:  for husbands, wives and dependent children and for other family members.

Family Members' Category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)

The Family Members category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program can help to speed up the process of bringing your family members to Canada.  If you have lived in Saskatchewan for one year and meet other SINP requirements, you can become a supporting family member.  The applications of family members are reviewed in Saskatchewan, and family members are eligible to be provincially nominated for immigration.  Their applications are then sent to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
